Last Saturday perennial tourists Old Eldonians arrived from Portsmouth and, even though they had an under-strength side, managed to hold out for a draw in a rain-affected 36-over game.  Belstone hit their stride when Wayne Pearce plundered 3 sixes and 5 fours in a rapid 52 before retiring.  Solid support came from opener Dennis Edwards (42) and Matt Dennis (22 not out) with Hugh Pollard returning the best figures of 3 for 21 from nine overs, as the home team ended on 161 for six.  Old Eldonians struggled from the start reaching a nadir of 32 for seven in the 18th over.  Gary Rogers then struck 3 sixes in reaching 35, the only batsman to reach double figures, before Trevor Holl (57 balls for 5 not out) and last man Aspinall played a dead-bat to the final 13 balls to earn the draw.
